Dr. Doug Mellinger did his medical schooling at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and then did his General Surgery residency at the Berkshire Medical Center. He has also done a fellowship in Thoracic Surgery at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Mellinger is a board-certified thoracic and cardiac surgeon with about 20 years of clinical experience. He currently practices at multiple hospitals including Scripps Mercy Hospital –San Diego, Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas, Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla, and Scripps Green Hospital.
