Dr. Douglas Minnich is a cardiac and thoracic surgeon from Birmingham, Alabama who is affiliated with many hospitals near the area, including Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center, but also the University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham. He did a fellowship in thoracic surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital, and then he completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Florida. He is board certified in thoracic and cardiac surgery, but also in general surgery.
