Fibulin-3 test can be performed as an additional examination procedure in order to evaluate the concentration of this protein within the bloodstream when mesothelioma is suspected in a patient. Consequently, if high levels of fibulin-3 have been detected, this may be an indicator of mesothelioma occurring.



However, the fibulin-3 test is not considered to be completely reliable and thus it is recommended to be used in conjunction with other methods of diagnosis.
