Dr. Detterbeck went on to complete his residency at the Virginia Mason Clinic before finishing a fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Frank Detterbeck is currently the chief of thoracic surgery for the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale in New Haven. With a board certification in general surgery and another in cardiac and thoracic surgery, Dr. Detterbeck focuses on mesothelioma and other cancers attacking the thoracic area.
