His residency was completed at the same University, with fellowships finished at the Vanderbilt University and the Harvard Medical School Brigham and Women’s Hospital. With two board certifications in surgery and thoracic surgery, Dr. Schwartz specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a very specific type of cancer, mesothelioma, which usually presents with tumors in the thoracic area. His wide spanning career has earned him several honors, also having published several works on the subject, peer reviewed, and published in respected medical journals.
