Dr. John Richardson graduated from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in 1982. He completed both his internship and residency in general surgery at the University of South Alabama Medical Center. He finished his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the Medical College of Virginia Hospital in 1989. He is a board certified cardiothoracic surgeon practicing at the Brookwood Baptist Medical Center, Grandview Medical Center, St. Vincent’s Birmingham, and St. Vincent’s East. Dr. Richardson is a member of several associations including American College of Cardiology, American Medical Association, American College of Chest Physicians, American College of Surgeons, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Southern Surgical Society, Medical Association of the State of Alabama, and Jefferson County Medical Society.
