Dr. Lira graduated from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. He did his internship at the Mount Sinai Medical Center and completed two residency programs  one at the Mount Sinai Medical Center and the other at the Hospital Central Del Empleado. Then, he did a fellowship at the St. Louis University Medical Center. He is specialized in Pulmonology and board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Disease. Dr. Lira has been in practice for more than 20 years and is affiliated with the Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista.
