Cefuroxime, also called Ceftin and Zinacef, is an antibiotic belonging to the cephalosporin class. It is used to treat various bacterial infections, including the life-threatening ones, and it works by reducing the development of drug-resistant bacterias and viruses and at the same time by raising the effectiveness of other antibacterial drugs.

Cefuroxime is taken orally with food to increase absorption every 12 hours.
