Formoterol inhalation powder (Foradil) and nebulizer solution (Perforomist) are used to treat wheezing, shortness of breath, and breathing difficulties caused by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in adults.

U N C O M M O N   side effects
  • convulsions, low urine output,
  • dry mouth, fainting,
  • fast, pounding,
  • or irregular heartbeat or pulse, increased thirst,
  • loss of appetite, noisy breathing

Formoterol

Formoterol powder is inhaled by mouth using the device which accompanies the tablets
while the nebulizer solution is inhaled into the lungs over the course of approximately 9 minutes
twice a day (12 hours apart).
