Radiofrequency ablation for Mesothelioma & Lung Cancer Patients
Free Chest X-Ray EvaluationRadiofrequency ablation or RFA, is a procedure performed using minimally invasive techniques, requires a local anesthetic and is done on an outpatient basis. This procedure uses heat produced by an alternating current of medium frequency in order to remove dysfunctional tissues, reduce the size of tumors, and relieve the patient's symptoms. RFA is most commonly used to treat kidney, liver, prostate, bone, and lung cancers, and is usually performed multiple times until the desired result is obtained.
