Segmentectomy is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of a small part of the lung. It is the least invasive thoracotomy procedure and can even be performed during a thorascopy with an endoscope. The disadvantage is that the probability of the recurrence of the cancer is higher in this type of procedure.
