Practicing at the National Cancer Institute as a medical oncologist, Dr. Raffit Hassan graduated from the University of Kashmir, in India, in 1988. He completed his residency after moving to the United States, at the Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo. He completed his fellowship at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda where he is practicing today. Dr. Hassan specializes in a few specific types of cancer, including mesothelioma, for which he also conducts research and clinical trials. Developing a specific immunotoxin, SS1P, Dr. Hassan helps improve treatment efficacy for mesothelioma patients.
