Dr. Robert Avery is board certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and has a remarkable medical career of over 25 years. He graduated from the Saint Louis School of Medicine, completed his residency at Madigan Healthcare System, as well as a fellowship program in hematology and oncology at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Dr. Avery is also a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. Over the course of his practice, he has contributed to a series of medical publications, being an associate clinical professor of medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham as well. Dr. Robert Avery’s practice also includes alternative treatment options for different forms of cancer, such as gene therapy and photodynamic therapy. He is currently affiliated with Baptist Medical Center South and Baptist Medical Center East in Alabama.
