Dr. Samer Kanaan is a thoracic and cardiac surgeon from Laguna Hills, California. He has been in practice for the past 20 years. In 1997, Dr. Kanaan graduated from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He completed a residency stage in general surgery at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University and two fellowship stages in thoracic surgery at the University of Southern California - LAC+USC Medical Center and the Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Hanaan is a board-certified specialist in surgery and thoracic surgery. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Some of the topics he presented in his publications are early detection of lobar torsion, giant coronary artery aneurysms, acute lung graft rejection, gene transfer of tumor necrosis factor inhibitor, experimental lung transplantation, low-dose endobronchial gene transfer, fibrovascular polyp of the esophagus.
