Dr. Santiago graduated the medical school from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine and did his internship at the Allegheny General Hospital. He completed three residency programs and is now specialized in pulmonology and also board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and sleep medicine. Dr. Santiago has been in practice for more than 20 years and is affiliated with the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. During his career, he has published four writings of medical interest in partnership with other doctors.
